Hub Labels Implements GlobalVision to Streamline the Quality Control Process for Labels and Packaging

Montreal, Canada – June 28, 2021 Hub Labels Inc, one of the largest and most diversified manufacturers of pressure-sensitive and linerless labels in the U.S., has selected GlobalVision’s digital inspection software to protect artwork files from missed errors. GlobalVision provides powerful quality control software that replaces manual proofreading throughout print and packaging workflows.

Optimized Artwork Inspections

With GlobalVision’s complete digital inspection system installed at Hub Labels’ print facility in Hagerstown, MD, the company looks to improve the performance and efficiency of its quality control workflow by ensuring that errors are caught as early in the process as possible. GlobalVision enables users to automatically inspect customer artwork files to verify that no unintended changes are made as the files are adjusted for press. With pixel-to-pixel accuracy, the prepress and graphics teams at Hub Labels can run fast and accurate quality inspections that protect against all types of artwork deviations.

Prior to implementing GlobalVision’s digital quality control software, customers would send in large artwork files that would oftentimes require adjustment by prepress and graphic departments. This creates an opportunity for errors to be created as artwork drops off or colors change. In turn, plate files would have to be manually inspected to ensure that they matched what was sent by the customer. By eliminating manual quality checks, Hub Labels will observe significant time savings, particularly when it comes to reducing the downtime associated with missed errors.

“Quality control is a staple at Hub Labels. GlobalVision’s software has taken our quality to the next level. What can easily be missed by the human eye can be found with this software. The software can be customized per job, per customer to ensure that even the most minute difference can be picked up. Utilizing GlobalVision’s software in our quality control process has been one of the best decisions made to improve our prepress workflow” says Jason Myers, Quality Assurance at Hub Labels.

GlobalVision will also help to further Hub Labels’ sustainability efforts by ensuring that any errors in graphics are caught before labels are printed. As an environmentally focused and landfill-free company, Hub Labels will see a significant reduction in wasted print materials while benefiting from increased cost savings.

“GlobalVision’s Quality Assurance software has given Hub Labels the potential to increase the quality of products to our internal and external customer base. The ability to put more aspects of the proof process into digital means has opened up an avenue that can greatly reduce proofing quality check time frames with higher accuracy. The software is also easy to use and apply to numerous product segments from Direct Mail pieces to more conventional food labels.” says Daniel Claggett, Quality Assurance at Hub Labels.
