Ibrahim Etem Menarini Increases Efficiency and Ensures Pharmaceutical Compliance with GlobalVision

Founded in Istanbul in 1903, Ibrahim Etem is Turkey’s first established pharmaceutical company. In its beginning, medical, chemical and food analysis was conducted under the name of Chemist Doctor Ibrahim Etem Laboratory. What started as a small medical analysis laboratory over a hundred years ago has now become a leader in pharmaceutical care.

After combining its strength and experience with Italian pharmaceutical company Menarini in 2001, Ibrahim Etem Menarini has become a highly-regarded organization that continues to make progressive products using an innovative approach.

No room for errors in the pharmaceutical sector

The quality control department is responsible for releasing high-quality products and services. Prior to implementing GlobalVision, printed packaging materials such as labels and cartons were inspected visually. This manual review process was taking up too much time for the quality department and was leading to process delays.

The possibility of letting a defect slip by due to human error was also high. For companies in the highly-regulated pharmaceutical industry, one missed packaging error could be detrimental to the brand’s image and consumer trust. With the looming threat of market delays due to packaging issues, reprints, and recalls, Ibrahim Etem Menarini turned to GlobalVision to help automate their quality control process.

“[Ibrahim Etem Menarini] works to combine the power and experience that our history has given us with the vision of producing value for the people,”

Increasing productivity by going digital

With GlobalVision, the quality control department has seen a tremendous improvement in the efficiency of running inspections.

“By going digital with GlobalVision, [the process] is more effective and professional for a global pharmaceutical company with a large product variety,” says Engin.

Along with meeting the ever-changing customer and user requirements, ensuring data integrity and GMP compliance is essential for companies to continue to operate in the pharmaceutical sector. With GlobalVision, Ibrahim Etem Menarini has been able to save time on inspections and ensure the accuracy of Braille text information on labels and packaging. According to Engin, GlobalVision has helped to enhance the safety of their control process while saving time in their day-to-day quality operations. Members of the department also appreciate the convenience and user-friendliness of the system.

With an overall mission of creating value for people, the company places high importance on producing products that are up to standards. “By using GlobalVision, all the big and small mistakes can be determined and actions can be taken before our products reach the customers”.

Ibrahim Etem Menarini would like to thank BLG Kimya and the GlobalVision team for their support and service.
