Phoenix Litho Eliminates All Errors with Help from GlobalVision
The largest commercial printing company in Philadelphia absolutely loves GlobalVision for what it brings to the table from a quality control standpoint… namely, zero errors
“I monitor the mistakes that occur if any… and there have not been any that have gone through the plant since we’ve been using GlobalVision,” says Phoenix Lithographing Corporation President Vince Costanza, with the system having been deployed in 2016.
“GlobalVision has certainly saved us from having reprints occur.”
As a digital proofreading platform that accurately compares files to customer-approved PDFs and proofs, GlobalVision lets Phoenix catch errors before they go to press and even during the run. Pre-press Systems Manager Robert Weir seconds the motion, explaining
just how large the return on investment has been.
“We’ve caught numerous mistakes, which has saved the company thousands of dollars over the years that we’ve been using GlobalVision,” he says. “It’s a tool that I don’t know how we did without it. It’s become a tool that we use every day now.”
With over 150 years’ worth of combined experience, the quality control department over at Phoenix is still able to take great advantage of GlobalVision. Besides the sheer financial aspect, GlobalVision has saved the staff both time and energy, as, prior to it having been implemented, everything had been done manually. And, compared to with manual
proofreading, the level of precision is impossible to replicate. For example, Costanza raves about the sensitivity level, which he relays can be set so high that the system captures dust on a sample. Preflight Manager Mark Valazquez meanwhile argues the practical benefits are undeniable.
“It’s very detailed as to what it is able to pick up. Some of the smallest, little things such as missing punctuation or a letter that’s been altered,” he says. “These things have been very critical to be able to help the customer get the best printed product.”
