“The process of making comparisons [between digital files and printed materials] is faster, leading to better productivity”
Blaž Jožef, Tiskarna Novo mesto, d.d.

Tiskarna Novo mesto leverages productivity and customer satisfaction with GlobalVision

Founded in 1958, Tiskarna Novo mesto (TNM) is one of the leading graphics and print companies in Slovenia. With more than 60 years of experience, TNM places a heavy focus on fostering long-term relationships with their customers through technologically advanced printing methods. The company is committed to the development of technology that ensures the best quality and customer satisfaction when it comes to printing folding boxes and leaflets.

Customer is the top priority

With a company-wide focus on producing the highest-quality folding boxes and leaflets, products are monitored at every stage of the manufacturing process. The Prepress Department is primarily responsible for preparing digital files and forms before going to print. Before the print form is made, a manual quality check is conducted to make sure nothing is missing. Printed sheets are also checked against digital files to ensure that there are no deviations. This is especially important for a company printing for the pharmaceutical industry as any small error could have negative effects on brand credibility and could result in reprints or recalls. Before implementing GlobalVision, TNM’s Prepress Department was using a quality control tool that proved to be too slow when running inspections. Additionally, the user interface was not optimized for the best interaction with the user. With the overall goal of delivering error-free products while being as productive as possible on the manufacturing floor, the company turned to GlobalVision for a professional proofreading tool that would help reduce bottlenecks and delays in the production process. A 6-month testing period was conducted between GlobalVision and other comparison tools and in the end, GlobalVision proved to have many more advantages based on their analysis.

Better, faster inspections

GlobalVision was selected as the quality control system of choice largely due to its fast-working nature. The Prepress Department relies on the Graphics Inspection module to check for artwork deviations on digital files, while the control department looks for deviations between digital files and printed materials. Using layers and separations, many comparisons can be made for the same project and are much faster to run, thus leading to higher productivity. Additionally, the graphical user interface (GUI) is more user-friendly and enables seamless interactions with the user.
Missing a graphic element or printing incorrect text on packaging can be extremely costly for a printer or converter, especially with client dollars on the line. With such heavy importance on ensuring that flawless products are delivered to the customer, TNM appreciates the fact that GlobalVision is flexible when it comes to setting the PDFs for comparison. If the settings for the comparison of files are not correct, users are able to go back and adjust the settings. Due to the fast comparison of files, good user interface, and flexibility, the Prepress Department has seen an overall decrease in the whole process time by 20-30% since implementing GlobalVision.

A commitment to quality

With GlobalVision, the entire quality control workflow at Tiskarna Novo mesto has benefited from a higher level of efficiency and better user experience in the software. The company also appreciates the level of training and support available to them in Slovenia. Overall, selecting GlobalVision as their professional proofreading tool has saved the department time while ensuring that perfect products leave their manufacturing facility, further aligning with their overall goal of delivering flawless customer experience.
