GlobalVision Introduces New Measurement Tools and Optical Character Recognition in Latest Desktop Release
Montreal, Canada – 17 October 2019 – GlobalVision Inc., the leading provider of quality control systems, announces the release of new measurement tools and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology integration in the release of Desktop version 5.7.
New Measurement Tools
Users can now ensure the dimensional conformity of digital and printed files by measuring the exact size of individual objects. These new tools enable ruled lines or rectangles to be drawn directly on files to determine and compare the size of artwork elements. Users can also select their preferred unit of measurement (in, cm, px), allowing for more personalized inspections when verifying the size of objects such as barcodes and logos.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
A highly-anticipated feature, OCR integration into GlobalVision’s Spelling Inspection module allows users to upload and run spellcheck inspections on files with no live text. Flat files, such as prepress files or images, can be uploaded directly into the software. Users can highlight areas of their files they want to OCR, extracting the text to check for spelling. Further integration of OCR technology will be implemented throughout the system to make inspections more powerful.
“OCR technology in GlobalVision is impressively accurate and a great tool to compensate for processes that leave behind live text,” says Brandon Malz, Director of Engineering, GlobalVision.
