Bar Width Reduction

Bar Width Reduction (BWR) is a method in barcode printing. It helps stop bars from spreading and getting too wide. This can happen because of ink spread or printing pressure.

Consider it a safety margin. By slightly reducing the bar width in the design, the printed barcode will scan accurately at the right size.

Bar width reduction:

  • Prevents scanning errors by ensuring barcodes remain machine-readable.
  • Compensates for ink spread in printing, especially on absorbent materials.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance in industries like pharma, where barcode accuracy is critical.

BWR is the key to keeping barcodes crisp, clear, and easy to scan!
